TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Another fall means another season of high expectations for Florida State soccer. The reigning national champions will once again be one of the favorites to take home the Women’s College Cup, however there will definitely be some different faces leading the way for Brian Pensky’s Seminoles in 2026.
Pensky says the good news for his young players is that they’ve now been there and done that, winning a title as freshman and sophomores and knowing just what it takes to be the best of the best. In a media availability on Wednesday morning, the coach shouted out a handful of names taking charge of the team, but in particular singling out Wrianna Hudson.
“With the departure of Jordynn Dudley, I think [Wrianna’s] personality is coming out a little bit more,” said Pensky of his junior forward. “She’s leading more and she’s just more comfortable in her own skin, and that’s what we need. Good teams start with leadership and being owned and run by the players.”
Florida State will scrimmage Sporting Jax on August 7th at 7 PM at the Seminole Soccer Complex. Admission is free to the public. FSU begins the regular season August 13th at Stetson.
