Boynton Beach, Florida, police said a 3-year-old girl became trapped in a toy kitchen and died four days later.

The toy kitchen included a sink, a stove and two little cabinets.

A GoFundMe identifies the little girl as Briella Holmes, saying on July 23, Briella and her brother were at a babysitter’s home in the Meadows of Boynton Beach.

Police said the babysitter was out, and her spouse was upstairs, periodically checking on the children playing downstairs.

Briella’s sibling told police toys fell inside the kitchen, and Briella got stuck trying to reach them.

The spouse found her with her head stuck and freed her and began life-saving measures. Briella died four days later.

The medical examiner confirmed to CBS 12 News in West Palm Beach that the girl died from “probable positional asphyxia,” meaning she became trapped in a position that kept her from breathing. Her death was ruled an accident.

On Tuesday, CBS 12 News was asking police for more information about the playset. On Wednesday, police released a photo of the product, which they said was purchased secondhand on Facebook Marketplace.

The kitchen set has no brand or model markings, but a nearly identical “country living kitchen” was found online.

Side-by-side, the set involved in the accident appears to be missing its toy sink, leaving a round opening on top. There are also openings along the bottom with toys visible on the ground.

Police haven’t said where Briella became trapped, how long she was stuck or whether this case has been sent to prosecutors.
