STUART, Fla. (CBS12) — Firefighters quickly extinguished a boat fire Wednesday afternoon at a home in Stuart, preventing the flames from spreading, officials said.
According to Martin County Fire Rescue, crews responded just before 3 p.m. to the 1600 block of Northwest Fork Road after reports of a boat on fire.
When firefighters arrived, they found thick black smoke billowing from a small boat sitting on a lift at a residential dock. Crews located the nearest fire hydrant and quickly knocked down the flames before the fire could spread.
No injuries were reported, and no one was taken to a hospital.

Firefighters from Stuart Fire Rescue also responded to the scene.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The State Fire Marshal has been notified and will determine what sparked the blaze.
