For Key Biscayne residents and visitors venturing to the beach this Thursday, the National Weather Service in Miami has issued a Rip Current Statement through Saturday morning, warning that strong rip currents could sweep even experienced swimmers away from shore into deeper water.
If caught in a rip current, don’t fight it. Swim parallel to the shoreline until you’re out of the current, then head back to the beach.
Today, thunderstorms are likely during the morning before giving way to cloudy skies this afternoon. The high will be around 85 degrees, with east winds at 10 to 20 mph.
Tonight, some clouds linger, with a stray shower or thunderstorm possible. The low will be near 80 degrees, with ENE winds at 10 to 20 mph.
Friday, partly cloudy skies early will give way to a few afternoon showers. The high will be around 86 degrees, with east winds at 10 to 15 mph.
