The new location will also give PAW more production capacity. The brewery plans to brew beer at the Haines Road taproom and could eventually add cider to the mix.
Its current lineup includes the Milk Bone stout, Puppy Love hazy IPA, Schwarzhound dark German lager, and the award-winning 1888 Russian Imperial Stout.
Dana, who served as Dissent’s head brewer for several years, said the new taproom will include subtle nods to its predecessor and the customers who supported it.
“We’re trying to pay homage to Dissent, in some ways,” Dana said in a conversation with St. Pete Rising. “We want to leave some nuances that will remind previous patrons of what it was, while doing our best to pay it forward.”
Like the Grand Central location, PAW Taps & Tails is expected to host live music, trivia nights, and monthly Yappy Hour events benefiting local animal shelters.
Along with beer, customers will find nonalcoholic options including kombucha, seltzers and sodas.
