Body found off Boca Raton coast identified as Fort Lauderdale woman convicted of killing mother
BOCA RATON, Fla. —
On Thursday, Aug. 6, the Boca Raton Police Department identified the body of a woman who was found off the city’s coast in the Atlantic Ocean on Tuesday, Aug. 4.
The woman found dead in the ocean two miles east of 2500 North Ocean Boulevard was identified as 63-year-old Patricia Brennan from Fort Lauderdale.

The police department said just after 8 a.m. on Tuesday, a boater reported a body in the ocean. Boca Raton police responded to the scene with the dive team recovering Brennan’s body in the water.
The police department added Boca Raton Fire Rescue, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the U.S. Coast Guard assisted at the scene.

In 2016, Brennan was sentenced to 10 years in state prison but was credited with 839 days of time served in Broward County Jail for the May 2014 murder of her mother in Hollywood.
Florida Department of Corrections records indicate Brennan was released from prison on Nov. 11, 2022.
After her time in prison, she was scheduled to serve 10 years of probation, but on Oct. 11, 2023, Brennan violated her probation following an arrest for trespassing in Escambia County in Florida’s panhandle.
