A new episode of Disney Vacation Club’s “Details We Dig” takes a look at the reimagined Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort, highlighting artwork and character details. We got a glimpse of some of these details back in June.
Reimagined Treehouse Villas
In the primary suite, Tod and Copper from The Fox and the Hound chase a butterfly through the woods in a mural above the bed. The room also features hidden Mickeys on the nightstands. The suite includes one of the most spacious showers at a Walt Disney World resort.
The second bedroom has woodland creatures from Sleeping Beauty on its above-the-bed mural. Even the trees are squared-off, reflecting the style of Disney artist Eyvind Earle who was in charge of the movie’s backgrounds.
The kids’ room, which sleeps up to three, has bunkbeds set against a tall mural featuring animals from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The throw pillows on the beds are also inspired by the animals.
Across the room is a fold-out bed below the TV. When the bed is open, a mural of sleeping raccoons from Disney’s short film Far From the Tree is visible.
Two framed pieces in the living space depict the flowers from Alice in Wonderland and Maximus from Tangled.
A series of craftsman-style tiles in the kitchen each represent a different Disney insect: Cri-kee from Mulan, Evinrude from The Rescuers, Ray from The Princess and the Frog, Squeaks from The Fox and the Hound, and Spike the Bee, who was featured in animated shorts with Donald Duck before becoming a mascot of the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival.
Throughout the villa are sculpted animals. Atop a kitchen beam are two of the bluebirds from Cinderella. Bruni from Frozen II is beneath a bench at the dining table. Back in the kids room is a carving of Gus from Cinderella at the base of the bunkbeds.
