TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The Tallahassee Animal Service Center is still celebrating 20 DOGust 1st adoptions and would love to keep the momentum going!
The Animal Shelter Foundation reports 11 dogs and nine cats were adopted on August first, which is recognized as the official birthday of shelter dogs everywhere.
Several of the dogs who got adopted were previously featured on Furry Friday, including Wiley, who had spent 298 days at the shelter!
Furry Friday is a weekly collaboration between WCTV and the Tallahassee Animal Service Center designed to get dogs out of their kennels and into the spotlight in hopes of helping them find fur-ever homes, faster.
Here are the dogs we are featuring this week:
MEET KANE
Kane is a big boy looking for a family with a big couch!(WCTV)
Meet Kane!
This big boy has a big personality and plenty of swag in his wag!
His family moved away and couldn’t take him along, so he’s ready to settle into a new home with a big couch!
Kane likes lounging, but his tail really starts wagging when it’s time for a walk and the chance to meet new friends.
House-trained and crate-trained, Kane is Mr. easy-going.

MEET ODYSSEUS
Odysseus is a man on a mission to find his fur-ever family!(WCTV)
Meet Odysseus!
One ear up – one ear down – this scooby doo dog is all about his Scooby treats!
Odysseus is a young man on a mission – to find his fur-ever family!
He is active and affectionate and hoping to discover an active, affectionate family … ready to take him for brisk walks and snuggle up with him on movie nights!
As Odysseus famously said in a newly famous movie, “Time to go home!”
You can meet Odysseus at the shelter this weekend!
MEET MAEVE
Maeve is sweet and spunky!(WCTV)
Meet Maeve!
The marvelous Miss Maeve!
The lab mix is all in for some back scratches, head scratches, or both at the same time!
Maeve is sweet … and spunky!
Maeve likes to move it, move it! Getting the zoomies and romping in the sand!
Maeve would love to walk the beach with you!
Her one request? Her favorite toy- a rubber bone to chew on and tote around.

MEET KARMA
Karma is hoping Furry Friday brings her some good karma – with a family to call her own!(WCTV)
Meet Karma!
This sweet puppy is wise beyond her years … or should we say beyond her 9 months!
Karma can sit for treats and leans in for plenty of TLC.
She is wiggly on a walk with a little pep in her step … and her tail wagging the whole way!
Karma is hoping Furry Friday brings her some good karma – with a family to call her own!

MEET AND GREET
You can meet these dogs and dozens more awaiting adoption at the Tallahassee Animal Service Center. It’s located across from Tom Brown Park at 1125 Easterwood Drive in Tallahassee.
You can walk through the kennels Tuesday through Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and can also visit by appointment the rest of the week from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

We are thrilled to share that seven of the dogs recently featured on Furry Friday were just adopted, and another was reclaimed by his owner!
