Police in Boca Raton have identified the body of a woman found in the Atlantic this week as a convicted murderer.
63-year-old Patricia Brennan of Fort Lauderdale served time for stabbing her elderly mother to death back in 2014.
Brennan’s 76-year-old mother died after prosecutors say the woman stabbed her multiple times with a butcher knife inside their Hollywood home.
Brennan pleaded no contest and she was given a ten-year sentence by a Broward County judge in 2016, receiving leniency due to documented mental health issues. She was released from prison and onto probation in November of 2022 after getting credit for time served.
A boater spotted Brennan’s body in the water about two miles east of the city limits. It’s unclear how Brennan ended up in the water or what led to her death.
