ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WWSB) – Two people were rescued Thursday when their small boat became disabled near the Sunshine Skyway Bridge.
The U.S. Coast Guard said they were alerted by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office of 2 people on a 22-foot disabled boat in heavy rain near the bridge.
A Coast Guard boat from St. Petersburg responded. A crew member assessed the two people on board and blankets due to the cold and wet conditions.
Hillsborough County Sheriff officers arrived on scene to assist and safely towed the vessel back to a marina.
