Florida State Edge rusher Jalen Anderson came on the Warchant “War Path” podcast this week and discussed everything from his journey to Florida State to from how preseason camp has gone so far to much more.
By the time Anderson came out of junior college and signed with Florida State, he was one of the top JUCO prospects in the country. But just one year earlier, he was not nearly as well known.
Among other stories, Anderson explained how he reached out to get FSU’s attention early in his recruitment.
“I texted Coach Ris, Coach Devin Rispress, on Twitter. I said by the end of the season, you’re going to offer me,” Anderson said. “I’m going to be the No. 1 Edge, and you’re going to be begging to offer me. I’m going to be the No. 1 Edge, and y’all are going to be begging to have me in y’alls room.”
Within a matter of weeks, Anderson got a message from Florida State DL coach Terrance Knighton asking him to give him a call.
“We set the visit up pretty quick,” Anderson said.
The talented pass-rusher also talked about new linebacker Chris Jones, the Desir Twins and the defense’s mentality.
“We just want to make plays every single play … in love with the process,” he said.
