TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Florida A&M head football coach Quinn Gray likes the way this team works. One week into practice, that’s his big takeaway for the Rattlers, but he’s about to find out a lot more about them Saturday night as the Rattlers scrimmage for the first time.
It’ll be the first time this team has practiced inside Bragg this fall. It’ll be under the lights, and coach is excited to see how his team handles the moment.
He said he’s looking to see who he can trust, who he can rely on, and who they can give the ball to in key situations.
He said he’s also looking for execution and consistency from this team, because that’s what will make a difference down the line.
“That’s the one thing I talked to them about today. Today was a good day in terms of the way we work, the tempo that we have,” he said after practice Friday. “I thought the energy was good. We have to be consistent. We can’t have one good day, two bad days, two good days, one bad day. You have to be consistent and keep that trajectory on an upward spiral.”
“We’ve been putting in the work all week, so we’re going out there, playing football,” added quarterback Isaiah Knowles. “We’ve all been playing football since we were kids. Ultimately if we go out and have fun and execute on the things we’ve been working on, should be a good sight tomorrow.”
The Rattlers open the season August 29th at home against Albany State.
