A man was arrested after he stabbed another man inside a popular Fort Lauderdale restaurant Thursday night, police said.
Fort Lauderdale Police said officers responded to Blue Martini at 2432 East Sunrise Boulevard shortly after 10:30 p.m. after receiving multiple calls from patrons about a stabbing in the restaurant.
The victim, whose identity wasn’t released, was found with multiple stab wounds and was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries but what expected to survive, police said.
Police determined the victim and suspect were involved in an altercation before the stabbing, and they were able to quickly find the suspect’s car with the help of license plate reader cameras, officials said.
Officers then used a grappler to stop the suspect’s vehicle and take him into custody.
The suspect, 52-year-old Lawrence Edmonson, was booked into jail on an attempted murder charge, police said.
