77-year-old Port St. Lucie man found dead in nearby pond, PSLPD says

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — The Port St. Lucie Police Department is investigating the death of a 77-year-old man who was found in a pond, according to a press release from the PSLPD.

PSLPD says that on Friday, around 1:18 p.m., officers were called to a residence on SW Mockingbird Drive in reference to a missing adult who was later identified as Michael Joseph Kramer, 77.

The investigation revealed that Kramer was last seen by his wife inside of their residence at around 10:00 p.m. on Thursday. However, when Kramer’s wife woke up at approximately 7:00 a.m. on Friday, Kramer was nowhere to be found despite all of his personal belongings remaining in the residence.

After an extensive search of the area, PSLPD says that they located an unresponsive man that matched Kramer’s description in a pond directly across the street from the residence at around 2:00 p.m.

The PSLPD Dive Team recovered Kramer from the water, and he was pronounced deceased. PSLPD says that currently, the circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, but no indications of foul play seem apparent.
