A restaurant in Hollywood is offering a new way to wine and dine, and the only thing that’s not required is clothes.
Nestled in the heart of Hollywood is C.L.A.S.S. Steakhouse Soiree, and the owner told NBC6 that they’ve been offering the nude dining experience for the past three months.
And the goal is simple: keep the business going in a tough economy.
“C.L.A.S.S. is an acronym for culinary, luxury and superb service,” Murad Ali said.
Ali is the owner and chef at C.L.A.S.S and said that they’ve been running for about eight years, and while patrons can enjoy a meal any day of the week, there is one night a month where things look a little different.
“The first Monday of every month, we have our host, our nude dinner, when guests can take their clothes off and enjoy a great dinner,” he said.
Ali said that when the blinds go down, the clothes come off
“It’s legal because the windows are completely blacked out,” he said. “No one can see from outside. Our staff are fully clothed, so there’s no entertainment from us. It’s just dinner. That’s what makes it legal.”
Ali told NBC6 that the idea came after the restaurant hosted a private party for nudists.
“Once the event was finished, my idea said, ‘Let’s do it ourselves,’” he said.
Now, the experience is open to adults, with a five-course meal and a few extra layers of cleanliness.
“We have a robe that everyone is offered, we have a leather seat cushion, which is sanitized, and we also have a lap towel,” he said.
The concept may not be for everyone, and Ali said that’s exactly the point.
“This is not your grandpa’s steakhouse, this is chef Ali’s experience for people who want to do something different,” he said. “The goal is to survive in this economy.”
The next nude dining experience is set for Sept. 7.
