Berlin Wall Art at Miami Ironside

While segments of the Berlin Wall can be found all across the globe, one creative urban district in Miami is quietly housing some of its own.

Once the symbol of division during the Cold War, these four standing pieces at Miami Ironside serve as icons of freedom, unity and artistic expression. They were painted by renowned French artist Thierry Noir, who was one of the first to paint Berlin’s “wall of shame” during the 1980s.

He actually worked on the brightly-colored segments here in the city during Art Basel 2013, where they remain as permanent, outdoor sculptures for your next stroll around the unique Little River district.

About Miami Ironside

Established in 2003 by local developer Ofer Mizrahi, Ironside is more than just home to historical monuments. It’s considered one of the city’s first adaptive reuse properties, transforming industrial warehouses into a network of mixed-purpose spaces. Visitors will find dozens of businesses, from food to fashion, craft, wellness and retail, alongside lush outdoor spaces.

The breezy, design-forward campus is filled with landscaped paths and thoughtfully designed gardens that serve as a sanctuary for bees and butterflies. The Ironside Arboretum is also home to the largest private collection of rainbow eucalyptus trees in the region, featured alongside poincianas, live oaks and coconut palms.

Miami Ironside also caters foodies with concepts like Ironside Pizza, which serves Neapolitan-inspired pies, calzones and classic Italian fare, as well as Ironside Cafe Bistro, an organic Mediterranean café offering artisanal coffee, fresh salads, panini and seasonal dishes in a leafy courtyard.
