PEARL, Miss. (WLBT) – A 15-year-old from Florida was arrested after an armed carjacking and armed robbery in Pearl Sunday morning.
According to Pearl Police Department officials, the armed carjacking occurred in a neighboring jurisdiction and the armed robbery took place on Pearson Road in Pearl.
PPD located the suspect’s vehicle as it was fleeing the scene, leading officers on a brief pursuit.
The pursuit ended after a tactical vehicle intervention, with the suspect being taken into custody without further incident.
“Let me be clear: Violent crime will not be tolerated in Pearl. If you come here to endanger our citizens or harm our businesses, you will be found, stopped, and arrested. I will not tolerate this behavior, and neither will this Department. Our community’s safety is non‑negotiable,” Pearl Chief of Police Nick McLendon said in a statement.
