CAPE CORAL, Fla. (WINK)—The Cape Coral Fire Department is giving out free reflective backpack flashers to help keep students safe as they head back to school this week.
Fire Chief Mike Russell said many students walk or wait for the bus in the mornings when it is still dark out. To help them be more visible as they make their way to school, the department encourages parents to pick up a free backpack flasher from any Cape Coral fire station.
Reflective backpack flashers are available at all 13 Cape Coral fire stations and Fire Headquarters. Locations include:
Station 1 at 4610 Coronado ParkwayStation 2 at 521 Nicholas ParkwayStation 3 at 1627 Everest ParkwayStation 4 at 2007 Santa Barbara BoulevardStation 5 at 1029 Diplomat ParkwayStation 6 at 4540 Chiquita BoulevardStation 7 at 3942 Burnt Store Road andStation 8 at 707 Southwest First Street

Additional locations include Station 9 at 4107 Pelican Boulevard, Station 10 at 3623 Gator Circle, Station 11 at 1038 Burnt Store Road, Station 12 at 2129 Chiquita Boulevard, Station 13 at 2025 Southeast Sixth Street and Fire Headquarters/EOC at 1115 Southeast Ninth Avenue.
