A new bridge, nature-inspired murals, and more exterior finishes are among the latest additions to Disney Lakeshore Lodge.
Lakeshore Construction Update
Construction remains active throughout the upcoming Disney Vacation Club resort, which is taking shape along Bay Lake near Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. During our latest visit, we observed progress across the main lodge, waterfront recreation area, dock, balconies, and Lake Houses (the separate A-frame accommodations).
The large painted tree murals have been expanding across the resort’s exterior walls. The murals feature tall, slender trunks and abstract clusters of leaves rendered in shades of green, extending the nature-inspired imagery vertically across the multi-story building.
One of the murals on the rear side of the resort appears considerably closer to completion. The two-tone design allows the mural to stand out against the pale green exterior without overpowering the building’s subdued color palette. Additional mural work is visible around the front of the resort, where portions of the leafy pattern remain incomplete.
Several of the tallest tower structures have also been painted a deep green. The dark finish provides a sharp contrast with the lighter green walls, black-framed windows, and evergreen-colored metal roofing found elsewhere around the lodge. Glass-enclosed rooms and angled rooflines cap some of these in-progress towers.
A small arched bridge is now in place near the waterfront and The Wetlands recreation area. The light-colored bridge includes gently curved railings with mesh panels and appears positioned to carry a walkway over part of the resort’s landscaped water system.
The Wetlands will include Daydream River, a lazy river winding through the recreation area, as well as the zero-entry Lakeshore Lagoon pool and several play areas. Although heavy machinery and construction vehicles still surround the bridge, nearby palm trees and other landscaping offer a glimpse of the finished tropical wetland setting.
Work is also progressing on the main lodge balconies. Two tall, brown support poles have been installed along a roadside-facing section of the building. These vertical pieces span several floors and divide long rows of balconies fitted with dark metal railings. Scaffolding remains erected around neighboring sections where exterior finishes are less complete.
Crews continue making steady progress on the waterfront A-frame accommodations, officially known as Lake Houses. The Lake Houses seem to have reached structural completion earlier this summer, with much of the ongoing work left to the interior space and building fixtures.
A handful of flotation devices have also appeared on the new dock. Several orange life rings are mounted on temporary stands atop the concrete platform, adding safety equipment while construction continues.
Disney Lakeshore Lodge
Disney Lakeshore Lodge will include 967 rooms and is projected to open in summer 2027, according to the resort’s ongoing “Letters from Lakeshore” updates.
Disney also recently revealed three resort restaurants and new concept art for the lobby and fireworks lounge, while earlier artwork provided a closer look at The Wetlands recreation area.
