TAMPA, Fla. (WWSB) – A dangerous felon who escaped a Tampa mental health facility Aug. 3 is back behind bars, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.
Dallas Dishman Jr., 36, was captured Aug. 9 during a traffic stop of a car he was a passenger in, the sheriff’s office said on social media.
Dishman has an extensive violent criminal history and multiple active warrants. He is charged with possession of a controlled substance, 18 bench felony warrants, robbery by sudden snatching and escape from a civil or forensic facility.

Dishman had been missing after he escaped from a court-ordered health care facility on Henry Avenue, the Tampa Police Department said.
Hillsborough County Court records indicate Dishman has had a lengthy history of felony arrests including assault and drug charges but has been ruled incompetent to stand trial.
