Airbag-Related Injuries in Florida Car Crashes

While airbags are essential for preventing serious trauma during crashes, they can sometimes cause injuries of their own—especially to the face, eyes, and upper body. The accident at Davie Blvd and S Andrews Ave is a clear example of this risk. In this case, both individuals experienced facial burns, a common outcome when the high-speed deployment of an airbag comes into contact with exposed skin.

This intersection, located near central Fort Lauderdale and close to I-95 access points, sees a high volume of daily traffic. Crashes in this area are often linked to turning movements, congestion at signals, and limited lane visibility. When a vehicle sustains heavy front-end damage—as occurred in this collision—airbag deployment is almost certain, particularly at higher speeds or during head-on impacts.

Though these safety systems save lives, they can still cause injuries that require medical care. Common complaints include chemical burns, eye irritation, nose fractures, and soft tissue injuries. Recovery may involve follow-up with specialists, prescription treatments, and time away from work or regular activities.

Navigating care after such injuries can be challenging—especially when victims are unsure of the next steps or overwhelmed by logistics like vehicle repair and insurance claims. This is where having the right guidance and support can make all the difference.
