TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – As students head back to school, the Florida Lottery is reminding them to apply for Bright Futures by the end of August to be considered for the scholarship.
The state agency said students have until August 31 to apply to receive academic financial assistance.
Florida Lottery Secretary Reginald D. Dixon said the scholarship is important to students and families in Florida.
“Back to school season marks the beginning of new opportunities for students across our state,” Dixon said.

“The Bright Futures Scholarship Program has helped generations of Florida students turn their dreams into reality by providing critical support throughout their educational journeys. We advise every student to learn more about the program and understand the requirements they must meet to receive a Bright Futures Scholarship,” Dixon said.
