Byron Donalds campaigns in Collier County ahead of Florida primary
COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. —
Republican gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds addressed a crowd of around 260 people at the Golden Gate Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7721 in Collier County as part of his “Defending the Florida Dream Tour.”
Donalds did not take questions from Gulf Coast News but told the audience, “In six days, Republicans will choose the nominee for governor. In six days, we’re going to figure out who’s won this campaign. That’s been going on for quite a while. Right now. But in seven days, we are one party.”
Donalds is one of 11 Republicans on the ballot for this year’s primary election, while six Democrats are also running.
At the campaign event, Donalds said, “The next governor is going to have to look at the data, look at the facts, and make a decision in the best interest of not just for Florida today, but for the next 30 years of the Sunshine State.”
The winners of Tuesday’s primary will compete in the general election in November.
