In this week’s Gabs, we asked people “What is one thing you wish Gulfport City Council would do that they aren’t?” Here’s what they told us!
What Is One Thing You Wish Gulfport City Council Would Do That They Aren’t?
Fix road on the corner of 19th Avenue South and 53rd Street South here in Gulfport. It has needed repair for quite some time.

I wish the Gulfport City Council would comply with House Bill 1365 by designating a specific, temporary property for camping that they meets strict state standards for safety, sanitation, and services. There is an [unhoused] person that has been living in Trolley Square Park in conditions that do not meet the strict state standards for safety, sanitation, and services. This park has potable water and electrical outlets. I wish the City would bring Trolley Square Park up to the strict state standards to comply with House Bill 1365.
—David Shiner, St Petersburg, in the 49th Street Fusion area
