Teen arrested after woman body-slammed at bar near UCF, sheriff’s office says
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. —
A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with an incident last week at a bar near UCF that left a woman in the intensive care unit after she was body-slammed, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
The boy faces a charge of felony battery, the sheriff’s office said in a statement Thursday.

Deputies were working in an off-duty capacity around 9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, when a fight broke out at Knight Library, causing one person to be taken to a nearby hospital, the statement reads.
That person — 19-year-old Olivia Nogueras — suffered a cracked skull and a brain bleed, according to her attorney Mark NeJame. Nogueras was in the intensive care unit for days afterward, NeJame told WESH 2 News, adding this all follows a separate brain injury from October 2025 which she spent months recovering from.
A fundraiser has been set up to help support Nogueras’ recovery.
“Her neurologist is indicating that this is an entirely new injury to the brain, so this poor young woman has really had it. It seems like it was all avoidable, and it should have been avoided,” NeJame said.
Nogueras has since posted to social media, recounting the night she was slammed into the ground at Knight Library.
“The crowd pushed me inward towards them,” she said in a video on TikTok. “They grabbed my friend’s hair. One guy swung … they punched me in the face. … I pulled him in closer with his shirt and punched him … and then after that, somebody picked me up and slammed me on the side of my head.”
The bar posted a statement on social media on Monday, writing that it had submitted video footage to the sheriff’s office and that it strives “to promote a fun, clean atmosphere for college students to have fun, not fight.”
Thursday, the sheriff’s office described some of what led up to the 17-year-old’s arrest in the case.
“On August 11, a young man came to one of our substations to talk to deputies about his involvement in the incident,” the statement reads. “After hearing his account and further examining evidence in the case, on Wednesday evening, detectives arrested (the 17-year-old) on one charge of Felony Battery.”
