Sandbags are available for St. Pete residents at the city’s Pavement, Traffic and Operations Building, 1744 9th Ave. N. in St Petersburg.
Pickup hours are 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and on the second Saturday of each month.
“With hurricane season in full swing, the City encourages residents to pick up sandbags before a storm threatens the community,” according to a news release from City of St. Petersburg.
Residents must show proof of residency and may receive up to 10 bags per household. Staff will be available to help residents who cannot fill or load bags on their own.
