
A Miami Shores Police Department detective was arrested by Davie police and jailed on an identity-theft charge and five theft charges.
A Miami Shores Police Department detective is behind bars on theft charges out of Washington state, according to court records.
Shmueal Mauda, 36, was taken into custody by the Davie Police Department on Thursday, Broward County jail records show. Washington court records show he has an open case out of Skagit County Superior Court, but there were no available details as of Friday afternoon.
He is facing five counts of theft and one count of identity theft, according to Broward County jail records.

The Miami Shores Police Department says it is cooperating with the investigation.
“Upon learning of the arrest, the Department took appropriate administrative actions and relieved Shmueal Mauda from duty without pay,” a statement from the agency reads.
