For all of our incredible dining spots and restaurant accolades, living in a thriving culinary destination means that we’re going to get a few curveballs here and there when it comes to grabbing a meal. One such event is in the form of dining in the nude….
On the first Monday of every month at C.L.A.S.S. Soiree Steakhouse in Hollywood, diners are welcome to strip off and bare all as they taste their way through five upscale courses and a champagne toast. Staff members, however, keep their clothes on.
The rather audacious private event just took place on August 3rd, with the next one scheduled for September 7, from 7 to 10 p.m. The evening includes a multi-course steakhouse dinner prepared by a team of private chefs (vegan options available), a complimentary champagne toast and robes and towels for all diners. There are also seat covers.
Once you look past the anxiety-inducing bit about, well, enjoying your food completely au naturel, the experience is all about embracing freedom, having meaningful conversations and relaxing in a judgment-free atmosphere. The OpenTable listing reads:
“Many of our guests are first-time participants, and most leave saying they felt far more comfortable than they expected. The focus is on great food, great people, and a memorable experience.”
If you’re curious about the legality of the dinner concept, Joann Hussey, a spokesperson for the City of Hollywood, confirmed it is in an interview with WPLG Local 10. “It’s legal because the staff members working are clothed,” Hussey said.
Tickets are priced at $250 for individual men and $150 for individual women, though if you’re planning on attending as a couple, it’s $300. Whether it’s a first-time nude experience or you’re a seasoned naturist, participants must also be 18 years or older.
