TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – One of Tallahassee’s favorite art festivals received national recognition.
The city’s Chain of Parks Art Festival is now ranked the number five art and design festival in the nation and the number one art festival in Florida.
Sunshine Artist Magazine put the LeMoyne Festival on its prestigious “200 Best” list for the 12th year in a row and in the national top ten for the 8th time.
That ranking is based on artists’ reported sales, which is a key measure of a show’s success.
This year, the festival featured over 170 artists from across the country and drew more than 45,000 visitors to Tallahassee’s downtown Chain of Parks.
“So, there are hundreds of fine art festivals throughout the country. So even to be in the top 100 is exciting, but to be in the top ten, let alone number five is really important,” Powell Kreis, festival director, said. “So, we’re just hoping that we can continue to build on that momentum because the word is out that our festival is one to be at where artists can make money and have a positive experience with our community.”
According to Visit Tallahassee, this year’s festival brought in a $2.8 million economic impact.
Next year’s festival is already set for April 17 and 18.
