Pedestrian struck, killed by vehicle on U.S. 1 in St. Lucie County

Incident occurred in southbound lanes.

Allen ConeST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla. —

A pedestrian crossing U.S. 1 south near Mediterranean Boulevard was struck and killed by a vehicle early Saturday, the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office confirmed.

The crash occurred around 2:15 a.m. in the 7800 block of the southbound lanes.

The investigation of the fatality was turned over to the Florida Highway Patrol. At 8 a.m., FHP completed its work and the one lane was reopened.
