Man, 82, dies in single-car crash on I-95 in Port St. Lucie
PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. —
An 82-year-old Melbourne man died in a single-vehiclecrash on northbound Interstate 95 in Port St. Lucie on Friday afternoon, the Florida Highway Patrol said Saturday.
FHP gave details of the crash one day after WPBF reported the incident on its newscasts and website.
The crash took place beyond Mile Marker 116 south of Southwest Gatlin Boulevard and north of Southwest Becker Road at 3:17 p.m.

The crash stalled traffic on I-95.
A 2002 Jeep Wrangler was traveling north in the inside lane of I‑95 when, for reasons still under investigation, it traveled off the roadway to the left and entered the paved left shoulder, FHP said.
The Jeep continued in a northwest direction into the grass median, where its front end collided with a tree.
The vehicle came to rest in the median, facing west.
The driver was entrapped and was pronounced deceased at the scene by a St. Lucie County paramedic.
