Glenn Close appeared during the Disney Experiences showcase at D23 to announce a new Cruella-themed ride for the upcoming Villains Land at Magic Kingdom.
Additional details for the ride were not immediately shared, but the announcement does confirm the second main attraction anticipated for the upcoming land following the Maleficent coaster announced earlier in the showcase.
Close famously portrayed Cruella de Vil in Disney’s live-action 101 Dalmatians and its sequel, 102 Dalmatians. Disney did not immediately reveal whether Close will reprise the role for the attraction or share further details about its ride system, storyline, or opening timeframe.
Villains Land is planned for an area beyond Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Magic Kingdom. The expansion will celebrate some of Disney’s most notorious antagonists through new attractions, dining, shopping, and an ominous landscape unlike anything else currently found at the park.
The Cruella ride joins the growing slate of experiences planned for the ambitious Magic Kingdom expansion. Disney is expected to reveal additional details as development continues.
