TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The man suspected of killing a mother of four before a chase and standoff with authorities has been transferred to Hillsborough County.
According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office’s booking website, Ladavion King, 43, was released on Thursday at 7:25 p.m.
LCSO confirmed to 8 On Your Side that King was transferred into the custody of Hillsborough County. He has not yet been booked into the Hillsborough County Jail as of this report.
Authorities believe King shot Tasha Moses, 47, multiple times during a domestic dispute in St. Petersburg on July 22.
After the shooting, King left the scene and headed south toward Alligator Alley. Witnesses helped the Florida Highway Patrol identify the truck, and King’s phone pinged near Sarasota,
FHP arrest papers said King then led troopers in a 107-mph pursuit before they stopped his vehicle with a PIT maneuver, resulting in a 90-minute standoff on I-75.
Shots were heard from inside the truck, and four troopers subsequently engaged the suspect.
He was taken into custody with what troopers described as “serious injuries.”
On July 24, King was booked into the Lee County Jail on four counts of attempted homicide, firing a weapon from a vehicle, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, eluding police, and the warrant out of Pinellas County.
