TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Family and friends joined a celebration of life for Rev. Derek Steele, son of the late civil rights activist C.K. Steele.
The civil rights activist had a tough battle with prostate cancer and passed away Sunday at his home.
The community came together and laid him to rest on Saturday.
Derek Steele’s brother Henry said he isn’t surprised by the number of people showing up for Derek, as he says he spent his life showing up for everyone.
“I’ll certainly miss him,” Derek’s brother said.
