Martin County deputies and lifeguard rescue man in emotional distress
MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. —
Two divisions of the Martin County Sheriff’s Office worked together to save a man suffering from a mental health crisis.
The sheriff’s office released a video from Sunday, Aug. 16, as its Marine Deputies, Aviation Unit along with a Martin County Lifeguard saved a man who was distraught and wanting to harm himself.

According to the sheriff’s office, the man stated he was going to swim out into the ocean in hopes of not returning.

The sheriff’s office said when its personnel located the man, they observed he was in emotional distress.
Deputies entered the water and pulled the man out of the water. The sheriff’s office said the man is getting the help he needs.
