LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Attorney General Tim Griffin said on Monday that an investigation by his office resulted in the arrest of a Jacksonville man for possession of child pornography.
Griffin said 43-year-old Michael Heird of Jacksonville is facing 14 counts of pandering or possession of visual or print medium depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child.

Members of the Attorney General’s Special Investigations Division (SID) executed a search warrant on Aug. 12. The warrant came after the office received a cybertip from Google, Griffin said.
During the search, agents found an electric device that Heird possessed, which had “multiple images of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM),” Griffin said.
Additional electronic devices were seized, and Heird was booked into the Pulaski County Regional Detention Center, he added.

“This is a sickening crime that exploits innocent children, and anyone who engages in this horrific conduct will be identified and arrested,” the attorney general said. “I applaud SID’s exceptional work in investigating this case, and I appreciate the Jacksonville Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations, and Metropolitan Emergency Medical Services for their assistance in this arrest.”
