Las Olas, FL – The FBI is searching for a man accused of robbing a Truist Bank in downtown Fort Lauderdale and escaping with an undisclosed amount of money.
The robbery happened around 4:20 p.m. August 13 at the Truist branch at 501 E. Las Olas Boulevard, according to federal investigators.
Authorities said the unidentified man entered the bank and approached an employee.
He allegedly indicated that he had a firearm before demanding money from the worker.
The suspect allegedly received an undisclosed amount of cash and left the bank.
Investigators have not said whether a weapon was displayed during the encounter.
No employees or customers were injured, according to authorities.
The FBI released surveillance images Monday showing the man investigators are attempting to identify.
Authorities said the suspect was wearing distinctive red sunglasses, a black beanie and dark clothing during the robbery.
Officials have not publicly released additional details about the man’s physical description or how he left the area after allegedly taking the money.
No arrest has been announced, and the suspect’s identity remains unknown.
As a result, no arrest report detailing charges against an identified suspect is currently available.
The FBI’s Miami Field Office is investigating the robbery and seeking information from anyone who may recognize the man shown in the surveillance images.
