The American Medical Association (AMA) Foundation has selected three FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine students for its 2026 Physicians of Tomorrow Scholarship.
Christelle Bucag, Cole Cimoch and Nicolas Jo are among 66 medical students nationwide to receive a $10,000 scholarship as they begin their final year of medical school. FIU is one of only five medical schools in the country with three recipients, tying for the highest number awarded this year.
Since 1950, the AMA Foundation has advanced medical education and healthcare by investing in future physicians and community health initiatives. Through the Physicians of Tomorrow Scholarship, the foundation recognizes students who demonstrate exceptional leadership, academic achievement and a commitment to improving patient care and community health.
We congratulate Christelle, Cole and Nicolas on earning this prestigious national recognition.
