  • August 18, 2026

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that one of three suspects accused of traveling the country and stealing from the dead has been arrested.

Angela Garrett, 52, has been arrested and faces multiple charges, including injuring or removing a tomb or monument, disturbing the contents of a grave or tomb, and grand theft over $20,000.

Detectives are still searching for Drake Lee Milam, 33, and his girlfriend, Porsche Bancroft, 32. The trio is accused of targeting cemeteries across the country, breaking into niches and stealing jewelry and keepsakes — including wedding rings — placed with cremated remains.

At least 20 cases have been reported in Florida, though investigators believe the number could be higher. The suspects are believed to live in Indianapolis and may have committed similar crimes in at least nine states.

Officials are urging families to check their loved ones’ resting places to make sure items remain secure.

Central Florida Crimeline is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest. Call 800-423-TIPS (8477).
