TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Leon County Commission Chair Christian Caban was elected as Tallahassee State College’s board chair during its meeting Monday.
Caban has represented District 2 on the Leon County Commission for the past four years and was recently elected as the chair of the county commission. The county chairman is succeeding TSC Chair Eugene Lamb Junior who has served since 2007 for five terms.

“Tallahassee State College played an important role in making me who I am today, which makes the opportunity to serve as Chair especially meaningful,” Caban said in the press release.
He attended Tallahassee State College and has been on their board of trustees since last year. He said he’s excited for the opportunity and said the college is an “extraordinary institution with tremendous momentum.”
The college’s board of trustees also elected TSC Trustee Monte Stevens as vice chair during the meeting.
