They say you never stop learning no matter how old you get. Well get ready to take that endless curiosity to the Orlando Science Center this Saturday, August 22, for Science Night Live.
The Science Center’s adults only event is back this weekend from 8 – 11:30 p.m. with a line up of programming including multiple guest speakers and 90’s rock laser shows.
The evening’s programs will start at 8:30 with a presentation from Natasha Tsakos, award-winning director and producer, about her experience working to put together the first choreographed multimedia performance in microgravity. Tsakos will be sharing the process of choreographing something for microgravity while having to prepare for it in gravity.
The programming will also include a Myth Lab show running from 8:30 – 11, featuring Brendan Byrne, Molly Duerig and Joe Mario Pedersen, local journalists from Central Florida Public Media. The three-phase show will allow visitors to submit myths they have heard, follow along as the journalists work through fact-checking techniques, research claims and ultimately share their findings to determine what is real and what is fake.
Throughout the evening, laser light shows featuring 90’s rock will keep the energy high and trivia will keep your mind at work. Visitors will also be able to explore ongoing exhibits and activities like planetarium shows, Circuits & Hydraulics, Train like a Fighter Pilot, Space Flight and more.
