JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Strong storms that rolled through Clay, Duval and St. Johns counties are being blamed for thousands of power outages Tuesday afternoon.

JEA confirmed all 32 active outages are weather-related. Across the utility’s service area, 8,038 customers — roughly 1.47% of JEA’s 546,281 total served customers — are currently without power.

The hardest-hit area appears to be the Mandarin neighborhood, where 2,694 customers are without power. A troubleshooter is heading to the area to assess the situation, and JEA expects to have power restored by 5:54 p.m.

Customers are encouraged to monitor updates through JEA’s outage map on the utility’s official website and to report any outages not already listed.
