JACKSONVILLE, Ore. – Workers cleaned graffiti out of a public restroom in Jacksonville on Tuesday as police investigate the vandalism’s possible connection to gang activity.
The Jacksonville Police Department responded to a report of graffiti vandalism in the Rich Gulch and Britt Trail area on Sunday morning. Officers reported locating several blue tags that they say appeared to indicate a connection to a specific gang organization.
Jacksonville Public Works removed the visible vandalism outside. A heavily tagged bathroom nearby was secured for cleaning, which was in progress on Tuesday afternoon.
Police say they are actively investigating the incident.
Jacksonville Police and the Jacksonville City Administrator did not respond to a request for comment today.
