A new study by Acuity Scheduling places Miami second among 100 U.S. cities for Pilates engagement, driven by the highest concentration of studios per capita in the entire ranking.

Reforming Pilates

Pilates is the full-body conditioning secret that has taken the fitness world by storm, and with a growing number of places to practice the workout in Miami, it’s never been easier to find your flow on a classic mat or dial the resistance on a Pilates Reformer.

In fact, the Miami has earned the No. 2 spot on a new national ranking of the most Pilates-obsessed cities in the U.S., according to scheduling app Acuity Scheduling. The analysis evaluated 100 of the largest cities across studio density, class affordability, introductory offer availability and search interest — and the Magic City stood out on nearly every front!

130 studios per 100,000 residents — the highest in the nation

Miami’s most striking statistic is its studio concentration: 130 Pilates studios per 100,000 residents, the highest figure recorded across all 100 cities in the study. The city also logged 59,510 monthly searches around Pilates-related terms — second only to New York City’s 400,790 — and an average group reformer drop-in price of $33.80.

Approximately 30% of local studios offer introductory class deals for new clients.

A wellness culture already baked into Miami life

Miami’s tropical climate and culture have long encouraged beach workouts and other outdoor fitness routines, but the data reflects something more structural. Newer wellness festivals like Wellist Week and startups like Eight Sleep point to a shift in how residents approach physical health, according to the study.

Where Miami stands in the ranking

Only Scottsdale ranked above Miami overall, boosted by a higher share of studios offering intro deals (40%) and a strong search-volume-to-population ratio. Atlanta came in third, with 111 studios and 70% of locations offering beginner discounts.
