Lauvers, it’s time to romanticize your weekend! As part of the fourth annual A Very Laufey Day, Grammy-winning artist Laufey has put together her own “perfect day” in Miami, so you can step away from your screens, connect with the community and follow in her footsteps.
The global event, spanning over 75 cities, is taking place this Sunday, August 23 by celebrating art in all its forms, from museums to books and symphonies. Net proceeds from the celebration’s brand collaborations and merch go to the Laufey Foundation to support arts access initiatives.
Here’s your guide to this year’s A Very Laufey Day itinerary and how you can participate, whether you’re keeping the festivities in South Florida or taking a road trip!
A Very Laufey Day in Miami
You’ll want to add a little sparkle to your day by starting off at Studs in Wynwood. To celebrate, the ear-piercing and jewelry shop is giving away a limited-supply of AVLD totes with goodies, including a AVLD sticker sheet. And if you bring a friend, get 50% off your piercing fee!

Then, get into the spirit of the day by celebrating the arts! Laufey has named the Pérez Art Museum as the place to be, recommending that fans wander around the contemporary space to find inspiration. Her itinerary reads, “You never know where inspiration will come from – it might be a melody, a painting, a costume, or even in that quiet moment when the lights dim and the curtain rises.”
If you’re not up for a museum visit, however, you could always catch A Night At The Symphony back on the big screen at AMC Sunset Place. Grab a friend, or go solo, and be swept away by the melodies of Laufey’s Hollywood Bowl concert at the movies.
After that, head to any Books & Books location in Coral Gables, Coconut Grove or Bal Harbour Shops to find your next read. They’ll have AVID merch for purchase, as well as the latest Laufey Book Club picks, and don’t forget to take a picture of what you’re reading to tag the artist!
Otherwise, get a library card and find a book from your local library. For Broward County Lauvers, a limited-edition collaborative library card will be available! With an adorable design perfect for beach reading, you can pick one up at select branches opening on Sunday, and all remaining locations the following day while supplies last.
Pause for a sweet treat afterwards, and head over to Van Leeuwen in Brickell to try the “A Very Laufey Way” fro-yo made with tart fro-yo topped with fresh blueberries and mochi. If you ask for ‘A Very Laufey Day BOGO,’ you’ll score one free medium fro-yo with any purchase of a medium fro-yo!
Celebrating around Florida
The best part about this global fan celebration is that it’s not just limited to South Florida.
Elsewhere in the state, you’ll find other events on the itinerary, from a special reading of Mei Mei The Bunny at the Marco Island Center for the Arts to delicious sweet treats at Sampaguita Ice Cream and The Greenery Creamery in Orlando. Be sure to try the “Laufberry,” a chocolate strawberry swirl with fresh strawberries on top.
Additionally, fans in Central Florida can end their day on a magical note with a one-night-only Candlelight concert at the Orlando Museum of Art! In this experience, you’ll listen to your favorite Laufey songs — from Dreamer to Lover Girl — brought to life by a string quartet. The shows will take place at 6:30 p.m. and 8:45 p.m., which you can get tickets for here.
