Collision between Dodge Challenger and electric bicycle leaves woman in critical condition

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — A violent collision between a vehicle and an electric-assisted bicycle left a 33-year-old woman seriously injured, according to the Port St. Lucie Police Department.

PSLPD says that at around 4:20 a.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to a crash involving a vehicle and an electric-assisted bicycle at the intersection of SE Crosstown Parkway, and SE Sandia Drive.

Investigators learned that a Dodge Challenger driven by a 48-year-old woman, was traveling southbound on SE Crosstown Parkway when she struck a 33-year-old woman who was traveling southbound across SE Crosstown Parkway at SE Sandia Drive while riding the bicycle.

The 33-year-old was left with serious bodily injuries, according to PSLPD. She was transported to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital, where she remains in critical condition. The driver of the Challenger remained at the scene following the collision and was cooperative with investigators.

As of now, PSLPD says that no fault has been established for the violent wreck.
