A Sunshine State-famous specialty coffee roaster is making its South Florida debut in your city, Pembroke Pines.
Tallhassee-based Lucky Goat Coffee will set up shop at 15667 Pines Blvd. — inside central Pines’ Paraiso Parc plaza — bringing with it house-roasted blends, unique drink offerings and a community space its team says goes beyond your usual café interactions.
“It is designed to be more than a quick stop for coffee,” Liz Deese, the chain’s master broker, told the Pembroke Pines News on Aug. 21. “It creates a welcoming environment where people can meet, work, study and genuinely spend time.”

According to Deese, the café is in the process of securing a permit with the city, meaning its timeline is still up in the air. She estimates it’ll take “between four and six months” before opening, placing its launch around late 2026 or early 2027.
The Pembroke Pines café would mark the chain’s 18th location nationwide, 15th store in the Sunshine State and first South Florida brick-and-mortar. It’ll take over the former home of health food eatery Raw Juce.
The brand’s newest store — in Bryan, Texas, about 100 miles northwest of Houston — opened on Aug. 20.
Lucky Goat plans to stand out in Pines’ coffee scene, adding southwest Broward to its growing die-hard fan base, says Deese.
“It’s an absolute cult. … So many customers know us from the shelves before they ever walk through our doors,” she said.
The brand was founded in 2010 by Ben and Brooke Pautsch, alumni of Florida State University, who opened the first Lucky Goat in Tallahassee’s Capital Circle neighborhood.
But its cult fame skyrocketed in Florida in late 2024, when Lucky Goat stocked its Arabica blends in over 475 Publix supermarkets across the state.
On shelves are classic light, medium and dark roasts including Caramel Pecan, Almond Love and the brand’s signature Billy Goat Breakfast Blend, as well as unique staples, including Cake and Confetti, the brandy-cinnamon Highlander Grogg and Ethiopian Wush Wush, a rare variety with notes of white peach, watermelon and cotton candy.
The cafe’s menu items are just as varied, according to its website.
Customers can pick from refreshing lemonade “summer sippers,” classic espresso-based cappuccinos, cortados and lattes, as well as house specials such as the Luckyccino, Goat Bomb and Strawberry Shortcake Latte.
