Fort Pierce man arrested after vehicle break-ins in St. Lucie County

A Fort Pierce man has been arrested after investigators linked him to several vehicle burglaries and attempted burglaries in the Spanish Lakes One community, according to the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to multiple reports of vehicle break-ins on Aug. 17. Detectives later identified 44-year-old Herman Ray Nettles as a suspect.

The sheriff’s office said an off-duty deputy spotted Nettles on U.S. 1 in Port St. Lucie on Aug. 20 and called 911. Deputies responded and took him into custody.

Investigators said Nettles is connected to eight incidents in the community. He is currently in the St. Lucie County Jail and faces a total of eight charges, including burglary and attempted burglary of vehicles.
