WINTER GARDEN, Fla. – Authorities are investigating the deadly shooting of a man who was found shot outside a Winter Garden home Wednesday evening. Police said the shooting took place after a card game.
Evidence is being collected at the scene.

Police say the shooting happened around 11:25 p.m., Aug. 19 at 778 Bethune Avenue in Winter Garden.
Police have identified the victim as 49-year-old Shariff Simmons.
Winter Garden Police are investigating a man’s death on Aug. 19, 2026.

Simmons was found on the ground outside the home and pronounced dead on scene. Police say that Simmons had been playing a card game before the shooting.
