PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — A 52-year-old woman was struck and killed by two cars on Thursday evening while jaywalking across a Port St. Lucie street.

Around 7 p.m. on Thursday, officers with the Port St. Lucie Police Department (PSLPD) responded to the intersection of SE Port St. Lucie Blvd. and SE Wald Street for a pedestrian struck by a car with serious injuries, per police.

The investigation reportedly revealed that a 52-year-old Port St. Lucie woman, Lizzie Ricano-Bornot, was crossing SE Port St. Lucie Blvd. without a crosswalk or traffic light.

She was struck by a Volkswagen traveling eastbound in the outside lane before being struck again by a Honda that was behind the Volkswagen. Ricano-Bornot was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both drivers allegedly had the right-of-way at the time of the crash; however, the investigation is ongoing.
